Next Ride May,14 2011   

We have been working with the Beneficiary of the 2010 ride to have the money moved to a trust account to be distributed upon receiving the transplant.  This has been a difficult and painful process. 

We have attempted to the best of our ability to do the honorable thing in spite of insult and injury but our patience is spent.  With great regret we are retracting the offer to continue this effort.  If anyone questions this decision we will gladly explain the events that have taken place since the ride that have lead us to this.

We will search for another deserving beneficiary and post the results of that search.    

The funds from the 2010 ride are in an account managed by Stephanie Turner of Bank of Walker County Jasper AL.  If you would like to confirm the status of the account This letter authorizes Stephanie to give out information about the account to anyone. 

The ride was May 15th 2010

We had over 20 vendors and 3 bands played live music all day.  Around 130 bikes rode this year and it was amazing!  We totally shut down Jasper when we came up the four lane. 

Thank you to all who donated and attended.  Thank you to all the helpers who volunteered.  Thank you to the vendors who came out and thanks to God for good weather and good organization.  Thanks to my wife Sandy who worked on this 5 months day and night.  Even though she was sick the last few days she pushed her body to it's breaking point to see this thing through.  

Money Raised

The ride netted $4895.00.  You guys are awesome.  That kind of money can make a huge difference during the difficult time after a transplant operation.  The caregiver will have to be off work and away from home for weeks.  That gets really expensive in lodging and meals. 

T-shirts

Again we apologize for the inconvenience of not having the shirts at the ride.  They called the family in on our shirt vendor's grandfather The night before the ride and he died shortly after the ride.

About Savannah
Savannah Faith Sides was the daughter of Stephen and Sandy Sides.  She was born August 26th 2001 and died May 15th 2007.  A miracle from birth, she proved in her short life to be a special child with unusual compassion.  A month or so before her death from a car accident, she chose to be an organ donor.  She said, with wisdom beyond her years, "I won't need them in heaven".  She was right, but there were more than 4 people here on earth that made good use of her gifts.  In the spirit of her generosity and to celebrate her life, her mother and I offer this event to help one who is waiting for that gift today.  Will you help?   more.. News

08/16/10 - 2010 beneficiary did not show at the bank to sign the trust.  Search begins for another beneficiary. 

08/12/10 - The trust account will be signed for the 2010 Beneficiary.

05/15/10 - The ride went awesome!  Over 130 bikes rode with us.  It was a hot day but everyone had a good time. 

05/05/10 - Daniel Wynn and his Crocodiles will be at the ride.  Come pet a live croc! 

05/03/10 - Interview on ABC 33/40 Talk of Alabama went well.  We couldn't take a bike due to the weather which turned out very nice by the time of the show.  Oh well. 

03/31/10 - Alabama Organ Center invites Sandy to join them on a Channel 13 news interview next Tuesday.

03/16/10 - City of Jasper approves a parade permit to allow the ride to come right down Hwy 118 (78).  They will provide police escort thru town and coordinate with the county police for escort thru the county. 

03/20/10 - Heart of Dixie Harley Davidson in Pelham agrees to provide a Bike for the interview on Talk of Alabama on May 3rd. 

03/12/10 - Scheduled interview with Tracy and Nichole of Talk of Alabama.  Be sure to tune us in Monday May, 3rd 9am.

03/10/10 - The Savannah Faith Miracle Ride is now an incorporated, non- profit organization. 

03/04/10 - Confirmed full page add in Full Throttle Magazine April issue.

03/01/10 - Bands for the day will be our dear friends back for another year, House57.  Also joining them will be Recording artist Donny Grace.  Also Madison's grandfather and his band, Back Roads. 

01/26/10 - (removed) will be the 2010 benefactor.  She is waiting for a heart transplant at 2 years old.
