We were going to take 2012 off

to plan and celebrated the wedding of our oldest daughter Kayla, and it went very well.
But now it looks like we will do a ride in the fall this year after all.  We got an offer that we can not pass up.  More details to come.

The Last Ride Date Was Sept. 24th 2011at Carl Cannon Chevrolet Jasper AL.

This year's ride was scheduled for May 14th but due to the tornado outbreak we postponed to Sept, 24th

God prepared a beautiful day with a high of 80 partly cloudy and a nice breeze all day.

106 bikes and 140 registered riders made a lot of noise and raised Jessica, and her family's spirits along with much needed funds.

Big Thanks to Eric "Butterbean" Esch and Adam Hadder, stars of Investigation Discovery's Big Law: Deputy Butterbean for coming out and showing their support.

Thanks to Carl Cannon Chevrolet!!

Thanks to all who participated.  Thanks to the vendors and volunteers.  Thanks to all who donated.

Big thanks to Jasper, Walker and Cullman Police departments for making this a safe ride.  Thanks to Saragossa and Mt. Zion Volunteer fire department for the escort front and rear.  Thanks to Ronald Sides for manning the recovery vehicle.

Huge thanks to the entertainers who gave their time and talents.  House 57, Trinity in Motion, The Page Trio and the Blake Scott Band.

Special thanks to the core, you know who you are and I know where your hearts are.  These are the kind of people who just give expecting nothing in return.  They don't even care that their names aren't up in lights.  They didn't know the beneficiary, they didn't owe us anything and they didn't get paid (as a matter of fact they spent a lot of their own money).  That's the kind of people I want to surround myself with and that's the kind of person I want to be.

2011 Beneficiary

Our 2011 ride beneficiary was Jessica Carter of Trussville, Alabama.

Anyone interested in helping us with this charity, please contact us at info@savannahmr.org

Remember that NO ONE is paid for their work in this organization.  ALL money collected is used to produce the ride and or other fund raising events. The remainder benefits solid organ transplant recipients.

About Savannah

Savannah Faith Sides was the daughter of Stephen and Sandy Sides.  She was born August 26th 2001 and died May 15th 2007.  A miracle from birth, she proved in her short life to be a special child with unusual compassion.  A month  before her death from a car accident, she chose to be an organ donor.  She said, with wisdom beyond her years, "I won't need them in heaven".  She was right, but there were more than 4 people here on earth that made good use of her gifts.  In the spirit of her generosity and to celebrate her life, her mother and I offer this event to help one who is waiting for that gift today.  Will you help?   more..
